Could Lesions In Vagina Be Due To Tampon Or Sanitary Pad Allergy?

I have noticed that every month during my menstrual cycle--but mostly when I wear tampons--my vagina develops either small lesions where ever the string rests outside of my vagina. it is red and a little itchy, but not open wounds. Can this be an allergic reaction to my tampons or sanitary pads?

Hi dear and thanks for your query.

If these lesions appeared only when you wear tampons this is called a contact dermatitis.
The best treatment is to stop the use of tampons or sanitary pads.
All the best
