Could Hypoglycemia Explain Weakness, Cold Sweats And Shivers?

Sometimes immediately after I eat I get weak, shaky and clammy... I ve had hypoglycemia for years so I know the symptoms when I don t eat but, recently after I eat...within 10 minutes. Last time I ate a slice of pizza and immediately had the shakes, cold sweats and weakness. Could this be diabetes?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
As you mentioned that you are an old patient of chronic hypoglycemia .
Hypoglycemia is a very serious condition but if untreated and as far as there are so many causes beside drugs ( used in the treatment for diabetes and also alcohol induced hypoglycemia).
Symptoms of hypoglycemia can be divided into 2 categories .
1 Neuroglycopenic symptoms are behavioural changes as confusion, fatigue, seizures, loss of consciousness and if hypoglycemia is sever and prolonged death.
2 Hypoglycemia-induced autonomic responses includes symptoms are palpitations, tremor & anxiety . sweating, hunger & paresthesia.
As I mentioned above there are two type of hypoglycemia , so in your case you can judge , which type of hypoglycemia happened in your case.
As far as about diabetes , get in HBA1 C examination .
Hope this information will help you.
