Could Hives During Pregnancy Be The Cause Of Fetal Death?

I recently lost my baby at 23 weeks gestation, and I am wondering since she had been dead for over a week before I found out if possibly that when I used dove bar soap containing sweet almond oil and coconut oil, causing me to break out in severe hives around the time of my babys death if one of those could be the cause?

I am so sorry for your loss. From the moment you find out you are going to be a mom, you start thinking about what the rest of the pregnancy will be like, what the baby will be like and losing that is one of the worst things imaginable. I am so sorry.

You didn't do anything wrong. It is natural to look for a trigger, a cause and even to blame yourself. You didn't do anything wrong. Babies are very resilient - mom has to be dangerously ill for the illness to interfere with a pregnancy. Genetic diseases or a disaster with the umbilical cord are more common explanations, but sometimes, frustratingly, there is no explanation. Even a severe skin allergy is very unlikely to interfere with the pregnancy.

Ask your doctor - they can test for problems that could effect another pregnancy.

Best of luck to you and I hope that helped.
