Could Headache, Cough, Appetite Loss And Diarrhea Be Signs Of HIV?

hello my name is steve, i had unprotected sex with a girl of 18. after two weeks, i started having some symptoms like... headache, cough, loss of appetite, weight loss and diarrhoea, i was also diagnosed of hepatomegaly. few days later in the hospital, the doctors told me that my immune system was weak. so i was tested for h.i.v infection and i was negative. but i fear that all these symptoms are h.i.v symptoms. please do i have h.i.v?

Thank you for query. The chances of transmission of HIV by sexual route is 1/ 200 to 1/2000 even if the partner is HIV infected. It is least as you have protected intercourse. The symptoms are non specific and can be due to viral or flu also. This may be due to kiss from the partner or you have contacted it from some other infected person.so relax and do not worry of HIV.The other symptoms are non specific and not related to HIV.it is not clear about the type of test done. You can get back for any clarifications with details.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and venereologist.
