Could Fibroid Tumor And Having Chronic Loose Stools With Mucus And Gas Be Related?
I am a 36 year old woman who is experiencing a few different things at the same time. I have an appt with a GI dr but he couldn t see me for 6 weeks. I am having chronic loose stool with large amounts of mucus. Sometimes I m passing large amounts of mucus only with no stool at all. Usually accompanied by gas. I don t see any blood. I m on the toilet several times per day and simultaneously I m undergoing a hysterectomy on tues for a large fibroid tumor causing cramping, pain, and excessive bleeding. The intestinal problems started about 6 weeks ago on a trip to Mexico and have continued to worsen as time goes on. The fibroid symptoms started around that same time. Help! Are these things related? Separate? I can t take this anymore.
Hello, 1) No this conditions are not inter-related to each other 2) Your intestinal symptom suggest possibility of either inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease) or specific intestinal infection (traveller's diarrhea). 3) For your intestinal symptoms, you require stool examination for routine and culture, colonoscopy. 4) You need specific medical treatment based on confirmation of disease after evaluation
