Could Excruciating Pain In Ribs,chest And Stomach Area Be Caused By Breathing Paint Fumes?

After painting my bedroom, I have been experiencing excruciating pains in my ribs, chest and stomach area. The pain is worse at morning when I wake up and before I go to sleep at night. It comes and goes throughout the day and often makes me feel nauseous. Can this be caused by breathing in paint fumes?

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. It is quite unclear from the history given to conclude the paint to be the cause of symptoms. But history of exposure to pain and developments of pain in abdomen and ribs along with nausea is suggestive lead poisoning. Paint contain enough amount of lead to cause lead poisoning, paint should be handled by professionals only and with a lot of care.
As it is rather early to conclude the diagnosis, a good suggestion is to go to ER or your family physician and get an x-ray (chest & abdomen) along with blood lead levels. once the lead poisoning due to exposure to paint is ruled out treatment can be initiated at the earliest.
