Could Delayed Periods Be Due To Stress?

hi, i had unprotected sex the first day of my last period, i usually have a regular 30 day cycle (so I was at least 10 days away from ovulation) but my period is 2 days late. It could also be because I m stressing to much about it, is there any chance of pregnancy?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, welcome to HCM!

NO, in my opinion your delayed period is not related with the possibility of a pregnancy. Two days delay is not too much. And if you have a regular cycle, the day you had sex is not fertile. Stress is a very important factor that periods may be delayed. Wait a couple of days, and I'm sure everything will be good. If the period delays too much, (10 days or more) take a test.

Best wishes!
Dr Eriol.
