Could Delay In Periods Be A Side Effect Of I-pill?

Hi Doctor,i am 27 yrs old. i have a 3 yrs old baby.i had unprotected sex wit my husband last month after a day of my periods.so i took an i pill within 7 hours.but i have nt got my periods yet its now 2 days late.this s the first time that i have taken this pill.is it safe

Yes I pill can cause delay in the period. It cause temporary disruption of menstrual cycle due to hormonal imbalance as I pill contain high dose of progesterone. I pill is very safe and 95 percent effective in preventing pregnancy.
I pill prolong the leutal phase of menstrual cycle lead to delay in the period for 4-6 days. Other side effects are: nausea, breast tenderness, inter menstrual bleeding, tiredness.
So wait for period to come. If it will delay by more than 8-10 days then you should go for pregnancy confirmation by home pregnancy kit.
Do regualr stretching and relaxation excercise, avoid sterss, eat healthy diet and fresh fruits
