Could chondromalacia cause pain in ischium and lateral hip?

I had an MRI of my hip and chondromalacia was seen. I am a runner and but have lateral hip pain mostly at rest. I stopped running 8 weeks ago because I had high hamstring tendinopathy which is resolving but I still have some pain localized to my ischium and lateral hip. Could this be from chondromalacia?

Hi,

Chondromalacia at hip joint per se is very unlikely to cause any rest pain, but the association cannot be ruled out. Would like to examine you clinically to decide the further course of action.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Gopal Goel, Orthopaedic Surgeon

I am a bicyclist. Had a lump on left ischium, thought bursitis, then realized it changed from one lump to three. Shotty nodes. We treated w keflex, maybe got smaller. Rode again and developed an inguinal node also. Pcp thinks muscle inflammation, chiropractor says not likely, gyn says leg shaving. C.T. Negative, ultrasound negative. Still there, month four. Any suggestions?

This morning about 2 am my left side just above my hip began to hurt with a pretty severe pain. The pain is somewhere in the soft tissue of the abdomen on the left side. At first I thought that it had been something that I ate. After about 30 minutes that pain subsided but then again almost an hour later it began again. This happened once again about 4:30 in the morning. Finally it subsided enough that I could get a little sleep. Now, almost 12 hours later it s beginning again. I just went to the bathroom and noticed that my urine was yellow but there was a brown tint to it but it was almost as if the brown coloration separated from the yellow of the urine and settled towards the bottom of the commode. Should I go to urgent care or just ride it out and see if it gets better?
