Could Chest Pains Be Due To Acidity Medications?

i have been suffering from chest pain that rises from the stomach and then feels like it spreads. it dissappears in a minute and recurrs after say 10 mins. i doubt it to be gas. i have started taking medicines for acidity. are these two related? what should i do

Thanks for your query.
From your history it seems to me that probably you are suffering from Gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD) which is causing your chest pain. So probably you are right that your acidity in broad sense (more appropriately known as GERD) is causing these symptoms and for this you need to take pantoprazole tablet 40 mg twice daily before food for at least 6 weeks along with life style modifications like avoidance of tea, coffee, ice-cream, cold drinks, spicy and fast food and you should take frequent but food of less amount and head end elevation during night time.
