Could Body Pain, Diarrhea, Sore Throat And Coughing Be Due To Sinus Infection?

Have had body ache, back hurts, nausea, diaherria, not eating much, headache, hurts to wear my glasses, sore throat, coughing up brown stuff, mostly in the morning, shills, throat is red and hoarse, hard time breathing when I speak, for 4 days. Can an acute sinus infection cause this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It can be acute sinusitis or upper respiratory tract infection like infective condition. Work up done as follow:

- Auscultation
- CBC with AEC
- Chest x ray if needed
- PNS x ray if needed
- Nose and ear examination

Antibiotic course can be prescribed if needed. Decongestant drug like Levocetirizine can be prescribed for five days.

Drink lots of water to maintain hydration. If headache is more, then paracetamol drug can be taken. Also, consult physician for examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
