Could Blood Sugar Being 128 Be Due To Intake Of Fluticasone Propionate Nasal Spray?

I have taken Fluticasone Propionate nasal spray for three days now - I noticed when I picked my finger this morning that my blood sugar was 128 - I am pre-diabetic and worry about this. I believe the number 126 is what the doctor says is right for pre-diabetes when you fast all night. Thank you.l

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

Fluticasone can cause moderate increase in blood sugar when taken orally. Sprays have very minimal effects on this. I will advice that you monitor your numbers closely and should they continue to rise, then ask your doctor if he could provide a substitute to this drug. Are you doing anything about the prediabetes? Daily exercises and weight reduction would be very helpful to reveres this or delay the onset of diabetes for as long as possible.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information should need be.
