Hallow Dear,

The use of Gynaecosid and Postinor 2 are different; however, definitely not to terminate the pregnancy.

Postinor 2 is a post coital contraceptive; i.e. it prevents the pregnancy from the unprotected sex if taken within 72 hours of the unprotected sex. Your girlfriend has taken it 20 days after the sexual relations. So it is most unlikely that it will act as post-coital contraception.

Gynaecosid is an Oestrogen preparation and has no effect as an abortifacient.

However, both these medicines due to the hormones in them can induce withdrawal bleeding if the periods are delayed and if there is no pregnancy.

So, your girlfriend was not pregnant. She has got the withdrawal menstruation in response to Postinor 2 and Gynaecosid.

I hope this explains you the events.
