Could Black Spots On Throat With Persistent Sore Throat Indicate Cancer?

Hello -
I have had a sore throat for a couple or so months. Today I happened to be in a doctors office and they informed me that I had 2 black spots in my throat that I should watch for any changes. What are the possibilities - I was too scared to ask if it perhaps be the beginning of cancer ?????

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have persistent throat infection along with black spots on throat which is due to streptococcal infection and it could be co-infection by bacteria and viral infection to your body. I would suggest you to start with anti-inflammatory medication such as Levocetrizine and antibiotic such as Lrevofloxacin. You should visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and get blood tests done. You should get endoscopy and CT scan done to rule out any possible cause of throat cancer. Need not to panic. You should start treatment after proper prescription and diagnosis. Avoid cold beverages and hot spicy food. Sip on warm water.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
