Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi,I have been having really bad pain in my back down into my knees and toes.I thought it was arthritis but it seem to hit me really hard and last over a month .I am still hurting I thought it was gas because a couple of nights ago I was getting rid of gas like crazy and it seem to take the pressure off my back some I slept better ,I thought I was constipated and got me some fiber and was pooping good two times a day .But then my back would still hurt today I pooped and it was like rubber I literally had to take toilet paper and pull it out .It was very scary .
I have studied your case. First possibility could be lumbar canal stenosis leading to pain in your leg. Due to compression of this nerve root there can be leg pain associated with it.
I will advise you to do MRI spine For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic medication can be started. Till time, avoid lifting weights, Sit with support to back. You can consult physiotherapist for help. Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief. I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level. Vascular claudication can also lead to leg pain which is common in smokers.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care
