Could A Canker Sore On The Stitches On Lips Indicate An Infection?

Hi! I fell about 10 days ago and had my front teeth cut thru my bottom lip. Got 3 stitches on outside and a disolvable stitch on the inside. everything seemed to be healing on the outside pretty well, but this morning I notciced what seems like a canker sore on the inside by the stitch...could this be an infection that I need to call my doc about? Or is this 'normal'? Thanks!!

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Canker sores can occur as a result of stress/inflammation in some cases.
You can consider monitoring.

The signs and symptoms of infection are: swelling, tenderness, increasing redness, increasing pain, discharge.

If any of these occur then it would be best to see your doctor for a review.

I hope this helps
