Could Venlafaxine XR And Vyvanse Interfere With The Use Of Local Anesthetics?

In the morning, I take 150mg of Venlafaxine XR once a day, 100mg of Sertraline once a day, 60mg of Vyvanse once a day. In the evening, I take one 1mg of lorazepam before bed. I plan on having my wisdom tooth extracted either today or tomorrow. Do any of these medications interfere with local anesthetics, like procaine or lidocaine?

Hi,

Normally not. But you should tell your dentist about the medication you’re taking because SSRIs can change blood coagulation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Alexander Davis, General & Family Physician
