Accidental leakage of liquids from throat into the wind pipe is not uncommon. The severe bout of cough
could have produced (a) Strain or sprain
of some ligaments (the cord-like structures at the end of muscles) (b) Muscular strain or rupture of a few fibers. Though reported in literature, fracture
of rib sue to cough is rather uncommon.
It is unlikely that a punctured lung (with air in side the pleural cavity
around the lung) will allow 2 weeks to pass.
Simple analgesics with local heat application or simple pain balms might help.
The pain may take a week or two more to reduce. If you are very worried about your lung, please get yourself evaluated by a physician or pulmonologist. He will carry out the necessary investigations and come to an exact, complete diagnosis.
