Hi there,
Thanks for writing in.
The two possibilities that come to my mind are an
allergic cough, GERD(gastro oesophageal reflux disease),
post nasal drip etc.
If you can identify the allergen that is causing your symptoms, avoid the allergen.
Any history of
heartburn , acidity ,etc?
I would suggest you visit a physician to help with the diagnosis and treatment.
In the meantime, follow the general measures to help reduce your symptoms,
Drink at least 8 -10 glasses of warm water a day.
When you are sleeping, lie on your left or right side, with head slightly elevated on a pillow.
Do not sleep immediately after a meal; wait for at least 2 hours after a meal before lying down.
I hope I have answered your question. Please do get back to me if you have further queries.
Have a great day :)
Regards,
Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
