You urgently need a chest X-ray as a minimum. Try to have this done ahead of your doctor's visit as this will save time. Depending on the out come of this x-ray you may also need to have a bronchoscopy
. The important thing here is to rule out lung cancer
and to make a definitive diagnosis. Good luck.
