Cough, Painful Tongue, Fever, White Coat On Tongue. Will I Be Okay?

Hello!
I was sick for about a week and still getting better. It started with cough for two days, than high fever - 102 F for 3 days, than lower fever for 2 more days. Cough didn't stop, my tongue hurts and I think I have something white in the middle of my tongue. I never had this before and I'm wondering what is the best to do. Please advise me.
I went to see a doctor and didn't take any antibiotics.
Thank you

Hi,
It may be that you have oral thrush. This is a fungal infection which can affect the tongue. It is not serious but can be painful. It can be treated with anti-fungal drugs from the pharmacists.
