Cough, Cold, Lung Congestion During Winter Season. Treated For Pneumonia Before. Precautions To Be Taken?

hello, my son (15) had pneuomonia two years ago and was in the hospital for his condition. since then, he has had a cough and during the winter season, (we live in Central California) he gets colds and his lungs sound congested. His pediatrician says he s OK and I should not worry about it, but I do. I need advise please

If its simple congestion, start steam inhalation on regular basis everytime he gets it. Cough & congestion during winters are also symptoms of asthma.
