Constant Swelling In Feet And Ankles. On Water Pill. What Is The Cause?
I have had constant swelling in my feet and ankles for over two months now, my doctor put me on a water pill for about a month and I frequently elevate them, but those options haven't made any difference. I am not pregnant or on my feet a lot. What could be causing this? and what should I do about it? thank you for you time
hi i had gone through your query and understand your concerns. i would come up most possibilities to fit your condition.
1.ankle edema may be due to VARICOSE VEINS,CYCLIC EDEMA,or GRAVITATIONAL EFFECTS,but in patients with these conditions,there is NO JUGULAR HYPERTENSION AT REST or with pressure over abdomen.
2.edema secondary to RENAL DISEASE can be recognized by appropriate RENAL FUNCTION TESTS and URINE ANALYSIS and it is rarely associated with elevation of venous pressure.
3.ENLARGEMENT OF THE LIVER and ASCITES occur in patients with HEPATIC CIRRHOSIS and also may be distinguished from HEART FAILURE by normal jugular venous pressure and the absence of a positive abdominojugular reflex.
treatment plan;
