Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Dry cough from long time may be due to .
1 Allergic asthmatic
bronchitis , diagnosis can be confirmed by physical , clinical examination with history of illness. Usually chest
X ray don't find out any finding .
Wheezing ( whistling sound during breathing ) , rales , itching over face , all are suggestive of asthmatic allergic bronchitis.
2
Tuberculosis , diagnosis can be confirmed by sputum examination and history of illness with X ray (as in the beginning X ray and sputum didn't reveal any thing)Blood examination for E SR are also suggestive if elevated very high.
3 Carcinoma of lungs also causes
dry cough , diagnosis can be confirmed by M R I of lungs . This is the characteristic feature of cancer that in the beginning it causes dry cough.
In my opinion consult a physician and get in opinion regarding allergic asthmatic bronchitis.
Good luck. Dr. HET
