In regards to a question I asked about congenital heart disease? It was my Fathers brother who died when he was 3 hour old and heart disease was found at the post mortem. Would this mean it would dfinetly be hereditary
The fact that your uncle died of a congenital heart problem when he was 3 hours old does not give us any information as to whether the problem is hereditary. However, if he was the only member of your family who has had congenital heart disease, then odds are that it was an isolated occurrence. Think about it, if it were a hereditary disease, someone else in your family would likely have had it too by now.

My cousin in the Philippines has congenital heart disease. Right now she is admitted to a hospital. The doctor said that she is too weak and that her case is hopeless. The hole in heart is too big along with that her lungs are too weak. Right now the doctors are not giving us any hope anymore. They keep telling us to brace ourselves for the worse. In your personal opinion as a doctor, is there any hope for her to get stronger, until we raise enough money for her heart surgery? Maybe in two months?

My husband's heart is beating loudly and seems to be beating irregularly. I took his blood pressure and it was normal. His heart rate was 102bpm. He also has an urge to cough periodically. He's had these episodes happen before and the cough has helped at times. Do we need to be concerned? His father died from heart disease and started having an irregular heart beat when he was 35.
