Concerned About The Many Symptoms After A Head Injury That Caused Concussion & Lacerations. Is This Serious?

My boyfriend was struck on the head last week and received 6 staples. He was diagnosed with a concussion, fractured nose, and laceration. Since then he has experienced every symptom that says we should go back to the er except the vomiting. We went to a different hospital when he didn't make any progress and they said the wound wasn't infected when it obviously is. Now he has a hard lump behind his ear on the same side as the wound. What could that be. He says it is very painful, it even has started to hurt his jaw

The lump could be hematoma

there is no need for concern in the following scenaria

1 . No vomiting
2. No abnormal movements of body
3. No alteration in sleep rhytm( some degree of affection is norma after trauma)
4. No signs of raised intracranial pressure

Local application of ice will provide relief
