Cold, Sore Throat, Congestion In Head And Chest, Nose Bleed. Sinus?

Hi, I ve had a cold for the past week or so - started with sore throat , then congestion in my head mostly, a bit in my chest. After resting all weekend I went to work today feeling better, but around 3 in the afternoon I blew my nose , again..., and immediately smelled this foul smell. Then I touched my face beside my nose and it s a bit sore and tender- the sinus , that is. Question - what can this smell be?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hi,
the smell can be due to pus in the infected sinuses.
if the problem persists then see an ENT, you may need a course of antibiotics.
till then instill decongestant nose drops like otrivin 3 drops 3 times daily for 5 days and follow it up with steam unhalation.
regards,
