Hi there Uttam. If it has been a decade that you have been suffering from Psoriasis/Seborrheic
dermatitis, you need to be 're-evaluated' . Firstly, i recommend a 'skin-biopsy' from a recent lesion to 'establish' the diagnosis if this has not been done hitherto. There is a condition we allude to as sebo-psoriasis which is an overlap of the two conditions. While i am not saying you have this, worth remembering. Also as regards the treatment, one has to first assess the psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis area-severity score known by different names & scoring indices..most common being what we call the PASI score (psoriasis-area-severity-index). Then the Managment begins & there are various options from
PUVA therapy to UVB311 phototherapies to systemic
retinoids to
Methotrexate usage to the more recent Biologicals toghether with or without topical creams but will depend on the treating
dermatologist, equipment at his/her disposal & the cost factor in addition to your individual patient characteristics. A good
emollient is paramount in your case. Do make it a point to fix an appointment with your dermatologist & will be happy to point you to one if you tell me where you hail from or look up the HCM directory. Cheers & Good Luck!
