Chronic pain. Recommend medication

My doctor is a nice man but I am a cronic pain patient and he is afraid to write a prescription for more than one month at a time. I pay the same amount for one month as I do for three months and have been on these medications for ten years now but two years ago had to move to Sun City Az. I have proved to him over and above that I do not abuse these medications.

1. many people can use recreational/ prescription drugs without ever experiencing negative consequences or addiction and importantly it varies by individual.

2. It doesn't depend whether you pay for 1 or 3 months, BUT on the consequences of drug use. [no matter how often or how little you’re consuming].
3. Taking drug [chronic use], causes a surge in levels of dopamine in brain, which trigger feelings of pleasure, changes in your brain interfere with your ability to think clearly, exercise good judgment.

Behavioral interventions exist that have helped many people reduce, or discontinue, their medications.
