Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Any pain & swelling in a joint of long standing duration needs an evaluation to know the diagnosis.

An MRI scan is necessary to know the specific pathology inside the ankle joint.

I suggest you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for further workup and management.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
