Chlorine or dry eyes can cause odd eye movements? Why do they pain? Suggest drops?

After a weekend of swimming, my 6 y/o son has developed some odd eye movements. I think it s because of chlorine/ dry eyes , but he is doing it a lot! Widens eyes and has eye rolling w/ open mouth movements. When I ask him why he does that he says his eyes hurt. I just bought some vision eye drops as they may be dry?? A little odd to me!
