Childbirth via C section. Lower backpain, pain in feet, sore fingers and ankles. Soreness and numbness around the incision. Advice

Hi I gave birth via c section 5 weeks ago, I'm suffering with lower back pain and my feet are painful, my joints ESP my fingers and ankles are sore, they were swollen in the last trimester of pregnancy. I am also experiencing soreness and a numb sensation around the c section cut and internally too, but I'm told that should take some time to heal. Please advise doc.

If you delivered with a spinal anesthesia, the back pain could be due to this as well as the usual post-delivery back ache secondary to the strain on the spine during pregnancy. To get a proper treatment for the orthopedic complaints you have, you should see an orthopedic for advice and get physiotherapy if needed. The numb sensation around the wound is due to the nerve endings being cut during the surgery and this would clear in course of time as the nerve healing proceeds. Take proper nourishment and ample rest along with postnatal exercises to ensure a speedy recovery.Wish you good health.
