Child With Short Attention Span. ADHD Diagnosed. Need Suggestions Regarding Treatment
My 7 year old son has a short attention span. He cannot focus and finish his task at school. Doctors says he has ADHD (attention Deficient Hyperactive disorder) and needs medication for that. I donot want to give him medications, please suggest is there any natural way to increase his attention and focus. I am giving him Brahmi capsules and for excercise he goes to karate classes and swimming. Please suggest.
I Also read on internet that Sarshvtarishth is good for memory. Can i try giving him Sarshvtarishth? Does it has side effects? i am worried, please suggest
I am sorry to learn about your child's diagnosis and I empathize with you as it must be really hard for you to deal with this situation.
Well you see ADHD symptoms can very well be managed with help of some very good medications but as far as Sarshvtarishth or any other natural supplement is concerned, all of these can only act as good supporting drugs to a main ADHD drug but using any of them as a single remedy is unlikely to solve your son's condition and as far as side effects are concerned this is a safe supplement with no supposed side effects.
So I reckon you may use Divya Sarshvtarishth only as a supplement in the form of 2-3 teaspoonful two times a day but make sure to start him on a ADHD specific drug like Atomoxetine at dose of 20 mg two times a day to start with which can be raised to 40 mg twice a day after 2 weeks and maintained on this dose.
Another very effective ADHD drug that is used worldwide for managing ADHD is Methylphenidate to be used in the dose of 10 mg in two divided doses which can be raised to as high a dose of 60 mg / day in two divided doses under the guidance of the doctor. This drug can be kept as a back up in case atomoxetine does not provide as much as relief in symptoms as expected.
So to summarize a combination of Atomoxetine anf divya Sarshvtarishth shall be used for your child and hopefully he shall respond to this treatment strategy and his ADHD symptoms shall become better with time.
I hope this helps.
Wish you all the best.
Regards..
