My son is three . He has elevated ESR and d dimer, Miley anemic he had been more so. Still breast feeding morning and night. I take valtrex, sometimes Advil pm , Vicodin , for endometriosis pain. Any correlation and if not why are levels high. His ESR is 78 he sometimes gets coughs, fever w no other symptoms and has a cold every three weeks or so.

Pediatrician 's  Response
While a d-dimer is not something you ask for simple illnesses, and hence I am unable to fathom why it was ordered, a raised ESR is a very non-specific test which occurs in inflammations, infections, rheumatic diseases and even, God forbid, malignancies.

More tests would need to be ordered to figure out the reason for the abnormal tests.

A word of advice. While the medicines you are taking ARE reaching the baby through breastfeeding, and are not likely to be the cause of his abnormal tests, I suggest that you stop feeding him on your breast as this has no nutritive value at his age of three years.
