Pediatrician 's  Response
Dear user,

I have to say that using a strong medicine like cefixime for a simple respiratory infection is, to my mind, excessive, as the child can improve with co-amoxyclav - which is also a rational drug for respiratory infections and recommended by the World Health Organisation as well as other statutory bodies that devise recommendations for treatment of children's illnesses. The danger in using higher antibiotics for simple problems is that the child's germs may become resistant to the oft-used medicine in future.

Kindly seek a second opinion with her problems as her usual doctor has over treated her the past 9-10 times. This is, however, only my opinion and you are free to go back to him if you trust his treatment.
