Child With Fever And Stomach Pain, Feeling Thirsty Often With Low Appetite. Suggestion?
my 3 year old has been running a fever between 101 and 103 for 3 days. the fever is reduced by medicine, but keeps returning. she has also been complaining of stomach pain and is thirsty often. Her appetitie has also been low, but she is still eating some. no vomiting and has had 2 loose stools . not sure what could be going on?

Hi,
Your 3yr old is most probably having viral fever.See to it that she is kept well hydrated and eats at regular intervals .Can give her some multivitamins with probiotic.If her fever doesnot subide in a couple of days she will need to be evaluated by her pediatrician .

Your child is having fever for 3 days with pain abdomen and loss of appetite.
It is mostly viral in nature,but needs to be evaluated.
I suggest you to get her examined by pediatrician for proper management.
In the meantime record temperature every 6 hourly and give acetaminophen as per dosage if fever is more than 100F.
Maintain proper hydration,give plenty of fluids,glucose water,fruit juices,vegetable soup.
Do not force her to eat give fluids only till her appetite returns.
