Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Ibugesic oral suspension is not a antibiotic.

It is a non steroidal anti inflammatory drug used for treatment of pain fever and inflammation.

There are various side effects for ibuprofen as with most of the medicines.

What are the associated problems your kid is having along with fever.

Does he have any cough or burning urination or frequency of urination or throat pain etc?

Please reply in detail so that we can help you better.

Take care.

Pediatrician Dr. E Venkata Ramana's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Ibugesic contains ibuprofen which is an nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug which is given to reduce the fever and pain.

In general it is an antipyretic and analgesic.

It is not an antibiotic.

It is given to treat high grade fever which is not responding to simple paracetamol like calpol.

It is a safe drug if it is given in prescribed dose and as per the instruction.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
