Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I would recommend using simple antipyretics like paracetamol. You can use non-steroidal antinflammatory drugs (ibuprofen) up to 3 times a day. Meftal-P has both paracetamol and mefenamic acid. So do not give paracetamol and Meftal-P together as he may be overdosed.

I usually give the dose as per the body weight.

Paracetamol is 15 mg/kilogram body weight every 4 to 6 hours and ibuprofen 5 mg per kilogram body weight every 8 hours. Make sure your kid has something to eat before having ibuprofen or even Meftal-P.

So you could either give Meftal-P or paracetamol + Ibuprofen. Encourage fluid intake.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Murali Gopal
