Child Trembles, Vomits And Falls Asleep. Pain In Head

My daughter is eight years old now, but ever since she was about 4, she would say she didn t feel good, throw up one time, tremble a little, fall asleep, and wake up as if everything were okay. We took her to a GI specialist when she was about 7, and they didn t find anything. Things have improved, however, she still has these episodes without the throwing up. Tonight she said she didn t feel well. The front of her head was hurting. She also said she felt very nautious. She got a little shaky and is now finally sleeping. I m clueless.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

I can understand your dilemma and anxiety. I woudl suggest that you get your child examined by a pediatric neurologist to assess and manage the child. At times children with atypical epilepsy can present in the manner described by you.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter all the best..

Regards,

RKK

Pediatrician, Neonatology Dr. Uma Rajah Ananth's  Response
Hi,
you have to take your child to a neurologist.
Nusaea- trembling -followed by sleep is suggestive of minor epilepsy.
She may need an EEG and assessment by neurologist.
All the best
