Child Taken Azithromycin For Viral Fever. Now Pain In Limbs, Cough And Cold. Repeat Medication?
Hi! my 4yrs old child (13kg weight) suffered from viral fever with just symptons of cold and high fever 10 tens back.she was given azythromycin 4ml, one time, for five days along with Iboprofene.the fever subsided after two days, but she is complaining of severe pain in her hands and legs now .the cold is not completely gone and also has cough now. should i again repeat azythromycin, or please suggest something else.
hello there,
this looks like some kind of viral illness that is troubling your daughter. and for your kind information any kind of antibiotics do not have any effect on viruses so it would be a waste of antibiotics and resources if you use anti biotics without proper indication.
what you can do is to give her only symptomatic treatment like paracetamol or brufen for fever and pain relief and wait for the illness to subside on its own.
if you think this is not enough for the illness, you can get a professional advice from a pediatrician who can prescribe the drugs after proper evaluation.
hpoe you benefit from my answer
thanks
amit
