Child Suffering From Cold, Cough, High Temperature, Tonsils Swollen. Taking Antibiotics. Not Getting Better

My 3.5 year old son has a very bad cold and cough . He has had a high temperature of 37.5+ over the past 2 days. His tonsils are swollen but pink. He had tonsillitis about 3 weeks and got an antibiotic from the doctor. Last night he had no temperature but his cheeks were very red and this morning he said his legs were sore. Can you advise me what to do I have been giving his iboprufen and paracetemol but he doesn t seem to be getting any better.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query,
This episode is looking like a Viral fever with upper respiratory tract infection.
Continue to give antipyretic medication as advised by your Pediatrician.
Give plenty of oral fluids, juices, soft diet.
Proper rest to be provided.
Consult your Pediatrician for the examination of throat and to look for any focus of infection and to prescribe you the treatment.
Hope I have answered your query.

General & Family Physician Dr. Ramesh M.Vachharajani's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
It seems that there is again recurrence of throat infection.
This time too he may require antibiotic treatment.
Consult your doctor and get examined.
After he becomes alright do not give him fried, spicy and junk food.
Avoid giving cold drinks, ice creams to prevent recurrence.
Ok and bye.
