Child Started Vomiting. Have Fever And Cold Feet. Should I Consult A Specialist?

My 16 month old daughter has been vomiting on and off for 4 days now she has also had temperature and has not eaten properly for 4 days. At the moment she doesn t have temperature however she keeps vomiting. I have also noticed she has cold feet and arms even with the temperature. 2 days ago the doctor said I should wait it out and give her paracetamol . Should I take her to the emergency room immediately? What can I do to ease the vomiting?

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

Sorry for the delay in responding to your query. I hope by now your daughter must have settled down as predicted by the treating doctor.

It is not unusual for individuals to have cold feet and hands even with fever. Once the body temperature stablizes the peripheries become warm.

To control the vomiting you can given your daughter syp. ondansetron 2.5 ml. three times a day for a day or two.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter all the best.

Regards,

RKK
