Child Nailed By Dog. Took TT And 1 Rabipur Vaccine. Recommendations?

couple of days back my daughter of 3.5 yrs had nailed by dog on her forehead and she got a deep wound on her forehead. She had been injected with TT and one dosage Rabipur vaccine . Dog is a pet dog and not seems any symptoms of any problem so now could you advise for further course of action means should we get her vaccinated with two more dosages of Rabipur vaccine or one was enough.

Hi,
If it was a pet dog and the vaccines give to the dog is confirmed to be up to date, then you can relax .However since you have given her the first dose of rabipur then complete total 3 doses because this will be like a prophylaxis aginst rabies i.e if another stray dog bites her you might not need to take 5 vaccine only 2 will need to be taken.
Bye

Hi
Thanks for your query.
Rabies is a fatal disease,no chance should be taken.
Moreover site of contact is forehead and there is deep wound as well.
I recommend you to complete vaccination as per schedule that is day 0,3,7,14 and 28.
consult your pediatrician for vaccination.

Wishing your child good health.
God bless.

Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic,
I advise you to take the complete 5 injections of Rabipur vaccine on 0, 3, 7, 14, and 28 days to give complete protection.
But if the dog is healthy without any problem even after the 10 days of bite, you can skip the last 2 injections after consulting your doctor.
But by taking complete vaccination , it will work as pre exposure prophylaxis and it will protect in future incidents of dog bite.
Hope I have answered your query, if you have any queries you can consult me on Healthcare Magic.
Regards.
