Child Making Noise, struggling For Air, Face Turning Red, Salivating While Feeding. What Is It?

Dear Doctor, I ve got a newborn (6 days old) and she is a picture of health. It is my first baby and arrived within 4 hours through normal delivery. I am producing lots of milk and feed on demand, I think she is satisfied. However, last night I fed and burped her as usual and put her in her cot on her back. She slept for about 3 to 4 hours without any problems and then I woke up as I suspected that there is another feed coming along and that s when it happened. She started to make the most awful noise, struggling for air, her little face turning red and thick, slimy saliva appearing from her mouth. It made me so worried that I could not go back to sleep in case it happens again. She was fine for the rest of the evening, although could not sleep anywhere else but on my chest because otherwise She made that noise again. Please help me! What can this be? How can I prevent it happening again? Was it something I did wrong for this to occur? Thank you for your time and advice in advance! Kind regards, Mrs N Tonge

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Ist baby , over concern , as this was absolutely normal as this was just due to regurgitation .
Due to regurgitation small fluid like portion enters into the trachea hence baby cried and this fluid expels.
Good luck.
