Child Having Stomach Ache Post Meals, Soft Stools, No Vomiting. What Is The Cause?

Hi my 3 yr old daughter is complaining of stomach ache for past 2 days. Her motion is soft but not running, which she is passing twice a day instead of once which was her daily routine. She is not vomiting , but complains of pain post her meal and early in the morning. I gave her a banana today post which she did not pass motion at night. Please advice if there is a problem.

HI

THANKS FOR WRITING TO HEALTCAREMAGIC

stomach ache with presence of blood with mucus in the stool is indicative of infection and the dysentry may have to be treated with antibiotics

probiotics, antibiotics etc may help your child..........if the condition is not self limited
preventive measures include hand washing and proper covering of food items

try avoiding eating outside

hope this helps
take care

hello

stomach ache in children occurs because of several reasons.................

it could be problem at school or with the teacher.....or with parents or simply they donot want to eat..........
even simple upper respiratory symptoms can cause pain

it may not be problem if there are no major complaints like.............burning urination or blood in stool or weight loss etc

think this answer helps you
