Child Having Low Grade Fever, Vomiting With Watery Stools. Having A Red Rash On Hands, Groin Area And Legs. Is It A Viral Rash?

Hello... My 8 year old son started with a low grade fever 4 days ago. The fever only lasted one day. The next morning he woke up vomiting with watery stools. The loose stools last 2 days. He has vomited twice today. Now he has a red rash on his hands, feet, groin area and legs. He had the fifth disease when he was 2 years old. Do you think this could be a viral rash?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.rash preceded by low grade fever.vomiting and diarrhoea indicates viral rash.but it is not related to fifth disease in the childhood at 2 yrs of age
Go for routine investigations cbp.cue.platelet count.ct.bt.crp and esr to rule out any superadded bacterial infection.
As it is a viral infection treat symptomatically.give ors liquid.zinc supplementation .paracetamol.emeset should be given.use atarax 10 mg at night.cefpodixime and calamine lotion as a soothing agent
