Child Having High Fever, Not Taking Carpol. How To Bring Fever Down?

hi, my 14 month old son has 39 degree temprature, we managed to give him carpol earlier in the day but he s just taking any more. he s been agitated allday, very sleepy and threw up twice. worried about his temprature, anymsuggestions on how to bring it down without carpol? we are worried to force him since he cries even harder and gets hotter.

I would suggest that you do not force him to take anything. KEEP A VERY CLOSE eye on his temperature, you can try bringing it down by spongeing him with water (NOT ICE WATER just Tap water) Keep him well hydrated and feed him in small volumes so that he does not throw up. with all this said i would suggest that you see a doctor aswell, and see what he has to say about the condition your child has. In this age group mostly these are viral illness which cure with time and we do not need any specific medication but we surely need to keep his temperature down to prevent complications. try giving him the medicine in a cheerful way not to agitate him. and please keep him hydrated and monitor his temperature and if it does not come down you need to see a doctor. i hope i was of help. if you have any more questions please do contact me.
