Child having fever, red spots on tongue, slight cough. Suggestion

my 11 year old son has had a fever for 3 days the lowest is 100.4 highest was yesterday evening at 105.6 his tongue is white with red spots strawberry toungue but no rash he has has scarlet fever before when he was 5 thats what his toungue reminds me of. has a slight cough but not productive sounds slightly wet but not much. what do you think? now his fever is 100.8

Thanks for your query. I am afraid that it is not possible to diagnose just by the temperature and the colour of the tongue. I suggest that you get your son examined by a doctor who shall take a detailed history, do a complete physical examination and investigations, if required. Then only a diagnosis can be made.

White coated tongue can occur if he is a mouth breather or even in conditions like typhoid fever. Since you say he has a cough then may be he is having blocked nose and must be breathing from his mouth while sleeping.
