Child Having Fever And Bleeding Nose. Bleeding Stopped After Taking Fever Reducer. Should I Go For Medical Treatment?

My four year old woke up with fever and his nose started bleeding! We took his temp and it was 101. We placed a cold towel on his head, gave him a fever reducer, and stopped the bleeding. Should we take him to urgent care?

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Nose bleed in a child could be because of several causes.
One of them is nose picking. (this is the commonest cause of nasal bleed in a child)

If nose bleed is associated with fever we should rule out certain causes like decreased platelet count etc which may result in nose bleed. So I request you to take your kid to the doctor for help.

Take care
