Child having dried blood in ear, persistent drainage even after taking medicines. Had ocean water in the ear during vacationing. What could be the cause?
My 5 year old grandson has dried blood in ear. It has been going on for a few days. We just got home from vacation at the beach and he got ocean water in his ears. The doctor couldn t tell much due to the amount of dried blood. He gave us a prescription to dry up the drainage. He has been taking it for one day. It hasn t stopped yet. Should we get another opinion or wait? What could be causing this?
It is likely that your grand sons ear has been infected and he has scratched it with a q tip or some sharp object which is causing the dried blood. He will need antibiotic drops and cleaning of his ear and i would like you to meet your ent doctor for the same. Thanks
